Financial decisions are rarely made one at a time

For business owners, families and individuals with growing wealth, one financial decision often affects another. A retirement plan may shape tax strategy. A business transition may affect estate planning. Investment decisions may influence cash flow, charitable giving and long-term family goals. The need for coordinated guidance continues to drive growth for Adams Brown Wealth Consultants, which reported $1.3 billion in assets under management on Accounting Today’s 2026 Wealth Magnets list, up from $955 million the previous year.

The increase represents approximately 36% year-over-year growth and reflects continued client relationships, referrals and demand for integrated financial guidance.

“Growth like this is built one relationship at a time,” said Chad Somers, CEO of Adams Brown Wealth Consultants. “It reflects the confidence clients place in our team and the depth of planning they need as their financial lives become more complex.”

Accounting Today’s Wealth Magnets list provides a national look at CPA-affiliated wealth management practices and their reported assets under management. Adams Brown Wealth Consultants was one of two Kansas firms included on the 2026 list and reported the highest assets under management among Kansas-headquartered firms listed.

For Adams Brown Wealth Consultants, the recognition points to a broader shift in what clients expect from an advisory relationship. Many are looking for more than investment management. They want guidance that connects their financial plan with their tax picture, retirement goals, estate planning needs, business decisions and family priorities.

“Clients are asking broader questions,” Somers said. “They are not just asking how their portfolio is performing. They are asking how retirement, taxes, business decisions and family goals fit together.”

This need led Adams Brown to develop the Pinnacle Program, a coordinated planning model for individuals with $1 million or more in investable assets. Through the program, Adams Brown’s tax professionals and wealth consultants collaborate throughout the year to help clients align tax planning, wealth management, estate planning and long-term financial goals.
